Fetterman's Flypower History: Back in the late 1980s, my wife and I we’re trying to keep cool by visiting a tea plantation high in the hills of southern India. There I witnessed two young lads capture a large housefly and attach it to a long human hair. They proceeded to capture a second fly and tie it to the other end of the long hair. They then took a 6 inch long by half in. wide piece of crêpe paper and tied it in the middle between the flies. When they released this contraption it flew in a very erratic pattern but it flew. You could not see the flies very well but the paper magically hovered around the air. I was amazed. For the first time I realized flies had excess power to spare. When we returned home to Philadelphia I spent A week building tiny airplanes with cigarette papers and capturing flies and learning to attach them to the planes. From these serious Aerodynamic experiments, Flypowered Airplanes were born. I transformed this important skill set into the above little kit that tells all! To date over $40,000.00 of these kits have been sold! They make the best stocking stuffers and and a birthday gift they never had before. And they do indeed really fly!
